BLESSINGS IN CHRIST

EPHESIANS 1:1-12

INTRODUCTION:

A.  Blessings from God too numerous to mention:

      1.  All good gifts; James 1:17

      2.  Some blessing are for all; Matthew 5:45; Matthew 6:25-34

B.  The Blessings “in Christ” from the book of Ephesians:

      1.  Are spiritual in nature; Ephesians 1:3

      2.  Are reserved for the obedient; Romans 1:16; 10:16; Matthew 7:21

C.  Our study today is “Blessings in Christ”

I.  “IN CHRIST” ONE HAS BEEN CHOSEN OF THE FATHER: Ephesians 1:4-6

A.  Before the foundation of the world; Ephesians 1:4

      1.  God’s plan to save the obedient; Genesis 3:15

      2.  Through the seed of woman; Matthew 1:21

B.  Predestined unto adoption; Ephesians 1:5

      1.  God has set the boundaries; Galatians 3:26-27

      2.  Peter wrote; II Peter 3:9

II.  REDEMPTION IS IN THE SON: Ephesians 1:7-10

A. “Redeem” means “to ransom in full” or “to buy back”; I Corinthians 6:20

B.  Bought by the blood of Christ; Ephesians 1:7; Ephesians 2:11-22 (11-13)

III.  ADOPTED CHILDREN OBTAIN AN INHERITANCE IN HIM:

       Ephesians 1:11-12

A.  Promise from God; Titus 1:2

B.  All Christians are joint-heirs with Christ; Romans 8:12-17

CONCLUSION:

A.  While God blesses all of mankind, His most valuable blessings are reserved for those who are “In              Christ”

B.  Are you receiving the best of God’s blessings; Matthew 11:28-30
