CHRIST IS OUR ALL IN ALL

COLOSSIANS 3:1-11

INTRODUCTION:

A.  We often hear slogans that influence our life and living:

1.  “You can lead a horse to water….”

2.  “Every tub has its’ own bottom”

B.  Many religious slogans:

A.  “Attend the church of your choice….”

2.  “What would Jesus do?”

C.  Many say “Christ Is The Answer” but fail to understand the truth in what they say

D.  A look at the facts “Christ Is Our All In All”

I. “CHRIST IS OUR ALL IN ALL”: Colossians 3:9-11

A.  In atonement, He is our propitiation; I John 2:1-2

1.  He died for all; Hebrews 2:9; John 12:32

2.  The blood of Christ atones for our sins; Ephesians 1:7; Romans 5:11

B.  In salvation, He is our Savior; Acts 4:12

1.  His name is called “Jesus” because; Matthew 1:21

2.  It is in His name (by His power) that man is saved; Matthew 28:18; Mark 16:16

C.  Concerning the way of life, He is our example; I Peter 2:21

1.  He is our way back to God; John 14:6

2.  We must follow His steps; Matthew 16:24-28

3.  We must mold our spirit into the likeness of His Spirit; Romans 8:1, 9

II.  IN TEMPTATION CHRIST GIVES STRENGTH: Philippians 4:13

A.  He sustains us; Hebrews 2:18

B.  He overcame temptation, leaving us an example; Matthew 4:1-11

1.  He was tempted “like as we are”; Hebrews 4:15

2.  He offers a way to escape every temptation; I Corinthians 10:13

CONCLUSION:

A.  For all who have been made new in Christ, He is the only answer; Colossians 3:9-10

B.  Christ is truly our “all in all”; Colossians 3:11
