A.  The body, church, is made up of many parts; I Corinthians 12:12-14 (NKJV)

      1.  Each part is needed if the body is to be whole; I Corinthians 12:18

      2.  God has designed each part to function with other parts as a unit;  I Corinthians 12:23-24

B.  When one part of the body, church, fails to function, the whole is affected;  I Corinthians 12:26

C.  In the healthy body, church, each member looks to the common good; I Corinthians 12:24; Acts 2:44;       4:32

II.  SYMPTOMS AND CONSEQUENCES: Matthew 12:24-26

A.  In the body, church, the symptoms often hide the true cause of illness, weakness or real reason for             division:

      1.  The Hebrew writer states that many failed to mature, having refused the meat of the word;                         Hebrews 5:12-14

      2.  Because of this weakness many had begun to willfully sin; Hebrews 10:25- 26

B.  The inspired writers point out the seriousness of the matter; Hebrews 6:4-6;

      I Peter 2:20-22

CONCLUSION:

A.  It is important that division be stopped before spiritual depravity and death overtake the body; I                 Timothy 4:16; James 5:19-20

B.  The body, members of the church, must be pro-active in spiritual matters; Hebrews 5:14

C.  How do you feel, spiritually? How does God feel about you?
