QUESTIONS FROM GOD

GENESIS 3:1-13

INTRODUCTION:

A.  We must all answer to God; II Corinthians 5:10

       1.  Paul wrote; I Corinthians 6:15-20

       2.  Luke recorded; Acts 17:28-29

B.  As God’s family we are to learn from Old Testament revelation;

      I Corinthians 10:11

C.  Our study “Questions From God”

I. “WHERE ART THOU?” Genesis 3:9

A.  God knew where Adam was and why He had hidden, yet He asked

      1.  Adam hid from God; Genesis; 3:8

      2.  His answer to God’s question; Genesis 3:10

B.  God still asks man today, “Where are you (NKJV)?”

      1.  Do we make excuses for hiding from God? Romans 2:1-2

      2.  Is the cost too high? Matthew 8:18-22

      3.  Are you too young/busy/old? Psalm 25:7; Ecclesiastes 12:1;

           II Corinthians 6:2

C.  If heaven is to be my home, I must obey Him; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14;

II “WHO TOLD YOU THAT?” Genesis 3:11

A.  Adam had been naked since the creation; Genesis 3:10

B.  Consider God’s question today: “Who Told You”

      1.  You don’t have to do anything to be saved? James 2:22-24

      2.  Baptism has no part (role) in salvation? I Peter 3:21

      3.  One church is as good as another? Matthew 16:18

III  TWO OF GOD’S QUESTIONS WERE VERY SIMILAR:

A.  Of Adam God asked, “Have you eaten the fruit?” Genesis 3:11

B.  Of Eve God asked, “What have you done?” Genesis 3:13

C.  Since the sin of Adam, man has disobeyed God; Romans 3:23; 6:23

D.  Will you make excuses or obey God; Genesis 3:12-13

CONCLUSION:

A.  Jesus calls all men to obey; Matthew 11:28-30

B.  What will you do: will you hide or submit

C.  Where will you spend your eternity?
